After a 10 hour drive from Kentucky back to southwest Arkansas, I decided to not do anything for my weekend!
Sure, I went grocery shopping and cleaned around the house a bit, but other than that I was lazy. I got a Netflix subscription and watch all the past seasons of Portlandia. I ate apples with cheddar cheese. I finished typing and organizing my work notes. I tried to not get blown away Saturday with the tornado watch in my area.
This recent trip was so fun -- me and 9 other guys drove 11 hours (we got lost) to Kentucky for a work project. We hung out and got to know each other and shared stories. It's great to hear about everyone and their life experiences.
It was tough coming back to my empty apartment. It hit me how homesick I can get -- not for Arkansas, but for my family up in Pennsylvania. Part of me wished so badly that I was driving back from Kentucky to Pennsylvania, I would sleep in my old bed, and hang out with my family again. It's a hard feeling to deal with sometimes.
And while I love traveling, I'm glad to be back in my apartment. :)
Plus, my brother sent me a couple pictures of my cat so life didn't seem so bad after seeing Ginger's little face.
How was your weekend?
Homesickness can be really brutal. But cats help! ^_^
ReplyDeleteYes, the cute cats really do help a ton. :D

Thank you, I'm hoping it's just a wave that will pass, though! :)
DeleteBeing homesick is the worst! Glad you made the best of being home for the weekend and lazy weekends are the best sometimes. Also... glad you didn't get blown away. Have a great week, girly!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I didn't get carried away either! :) Hope you have a wonderful week, too!
DeleteI'm sorry to hear about your Homesickness... you know I get it too and I live 30 minutes from my parents. I don't think it will every change. And, an animal always helps that's for sure! Have a good week!!
ReplyDeleteIt's true, homesickness never truly goes away! Mine seems to come in waves, but I'm learning to deal with it by staying busy. Hope you have a great week, too!
DeleteI am really lucky to have my family 5 hours - at most - away from me and my immediate family all within an hour. I always say I want to move away but I think it'd be difficult :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us!
It's definitely a rough thing to do, but the good thing is that I can always come back if I want to! I would love to live by my family again.
Delete:( I can relate. My husband is stationed in upstate NY and our family is 16 hours away in East TN. I'm homesick all the time and I think he is too. Your Ginger kitty is so cute! ;)
