Weekend Update: the best shopping trip ever.

It's that time again... time for a Weekend Update!

Friday: Got off work a little early, then I went home and cleaned my whole apartment, top to bottom. It was the first time since I moved in that I really busted my butt cleaning the whole thing. Now it smells fresh and wonderful. :)

Saturday: Went shopping!! The only place with a mall is about an hour away, so I had a huge list compiled of three weeks worth of things I needed. I got plenty of make-up, couch pillows, picture frames, and work clothes. Plus some Texas beer. ;) It was a really successful day and I ended up getting home around 4, way earlier than what I was expecting!

Sunday: Grocery shopping, laundry, and cooking. All day, errday. Just kidding, only for today! Then I spent a relaxing weekend watching the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics. Is it weird that I'm sad it's all over?! At least the Winter Olympics are in 18 months. But this year's Olympics were awesome -- plenty of records broken, lots of great new people (women DOMINATED!!), and the atmosphere in London seemed so peaceful. It's what the Olympics are really all about.

What did you do this weekend?

  1. I always feel sad when the (Summer) Olympics end too :/ (Winter Olympics aren't really big where I come from...infact I barely knew there were such a thing until recently)
We wait four years for them to come, and then BAM! It's all over again!
I get so into it - no matter who wins, I almost always cry tears of pride imagining how it must feel!

    1. Me too!! It's crazy how something like the Olympics can bring people together like that! I only get excited for hockey and snowboarding during the Winter Olympics, so I definitely invest more in the Summer games. :)

  2. Congrats on a successful shopping trip. I've been on a shopping freeze this month and it's really surprising to me how well I'm doing! I used to buy stuff "just because" but now I'm learning that I really don't need all those impulse purchases. Plus I'm saving a lot of money :)

Thanks for linking up with us!

    1. I definitely need to do that! I think this'll be my last 'big' shopping trip... then I'll do a freeze like you! Extra money sounds better than extra stuff.
