Weekend Update: the best shopping trip ever.
It's that time again... time for a Weekend Update!
Friday: Got off work a little early, then I went home and cleaned my whole apartment, top to bottom. It was the first time since I moved in that I really busted my butt cleaning the whole thing. Now it smells fresh and wonderful. :)
Saturday: Went shopping!! The only place with a mall is about an hour away, so I had a huge list compiled of three weeks worth of things I needed. I got plenty of make-up, couch pillows, picture frames, and work clothes. Plus some Texas beer. ;) It was a really successful day and I ended up getting home around 4, way earlier than what I was expecting!
Sunday: Grocery shopping, laundry, and cooking. All day, errday. Just kidding, only for today! Then I spent a relaxing weekend watching the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics. Is it weird that I'm sad it's all over?! At least the Winter Olympics are in 18 months. But this year's Olympics were awesome -- plenty of records broken, lots of great new people (women DOMINATED!!), and the atmosphere in London seemed so peaceful. It's what the Olympics are really all about.
What did you do this weekend?

I always feel sad when the (Summer) Olympics end too :/ (Winter Olympics aren't really big where I come from...infact I barely knew there were such a thing until recently)
ReplyDeleteWe wait four years for them to come, and then BAM! It's all over again!
I get so into it - no matter who wins, I almost always cry tears of pride imagining how it must feel!
Me too!! It's crazy how something like the Olympics can bring people together like that! I only get excited for hockey and snowboarding during the Winter Olympics, so I definitely invest more in the Summer games. :)
DeleteCongrats on a successful shopping trip. I've been on a shopping freeze this month and it's really surprising to me how well I'm doing! I used to buy stuff "just because" but now I'm learning that I really don't need all those impulse purchases. Plus I'm saving a lot of money :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us!
I definitely need to do that! I think this'll be my last 'big' shopping trip... then I'll do a freeze like you! Extra money sounds better than extra stuff.
DeleteAwe, I was sad to see the Olympics ended too. I liked the closing ceremony though! Sounds like you had a dandy weekend!

The closing ceremony was AWESOME!!! I mean, really, The Spice Girls and Monty Python? Too cool.
DeleteLooks like such a fun weekend! Love the shopping finds! I feel the same way about the Olympics. I am so sad to see the Olympic spirit go, too. Happy Monday!

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one sad about the Olympics ending. :)
DeleteLove your successful shopping trip! That makeup palette looks gorg! I need to clean my place so bad but I always put it off. This weekend I swear I'm going to ;) Thanks for linking up Megan!
ReplyDeleteThe palette is amazing! It's Unzipped by Lorac, you should definitely check it out! :)
DeleteLooks like a great weekend! Your shopping trip was definitely successful, and that's always a great addition to the weekend :) Have a happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteShopping always makes a weekend great! Have a great Monday! :)
DeleteAw man I need to clean my apt so bad. I am the worst at cleaning and I was sick for a few weeks so now I'm so behind :( Glad you got to do other fun things besides cleaning though! Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteOh no!! I hope you're feeling a lot better now! I'm a weirdo and love cleaning a lot haha. Have a great Monday!

ReplyDeleteIt kinda sucks but I guess it's good that I don't spend my whole paycheck on things haha. The palette is awesome, it's Unzipped by Lorac. :)
DeleteMaybe that's the problem... I have too many malls around me! Honestly your weekend sounded really great to me!
ReplyDeleteHaha I'll trade ya because I wish I had MORE malls and shopping centers!
DeleteWay to go on cleaning your whole apartment! I'm impressed!! It always feels SO good to do that...you know, once it's over.

Exactly! And for me, when the mood strikes, I just HAVE to clean everything!
DeleteFun shopping trip!! I'm also so sad the Olympics are over. I watched all day and all night. At least I can get more sleep now. Haha!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the linkup :)
The only good thing about the Olympics being over is getting more sleep! Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteI'm very very sad the Olympics are over... I'm gonna miss my boyfriends!!! :)
ReplyDeleteNars is my favorite makeup line... love their lipstick the best!!
Ugh I know right! What am I going to do without all those attractive men on my tv?!
DeleteThis is my first Nars purchase and I'm super impressed! I want to buy their lipstick next! :)
